Anurag Kashyap is busy promoting his new film Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat. During the interview, the director is talking about his film. Besides, he has also talked about his personal life. He also said that his alcoholism destroyed his house. Anurag’s ex-wife had kicked him out.

Anurag became a star

In 2009, Anurag came into limelight with the film Dev D. Talking about his bad days, Anurag said that he goes into depression as soon as a film flops. To get out of this situation, he locked himself in the room. By doing this, his condition worsened.

Anurag said, ‘I used to drink so much that I used to sit in my room day and night and think about unnecessary things. I started drinking because I thought more than I should. It led to depression. This process continued for about a year and a half. My ex-wife was fed up with me. Aarti (Anurag’s ex-wife) kicked me out of the house. My daughter Alia was only four years old at that time. It was a very bad time. I used to worry most of the time.

Angry at the industry

Anurag said, ‘Five films were flops. There was a black friday sale. I was fired from Tere Naam Aar Kante. Then I started drinking and dealing with all this. I was constantly getting fired from every project I wrote. It was such a bad time that I was just angry. And all my anger was with the industry and the system of this country.

Anurag’s last film was Dobara in which Taapsee Pannu played the lead role. The film was released in OTT. Similarly, Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat is all set for release on February 3. It stars Karan Mehta in the lead role along with Alaliya F.
