Indian comedian Samay Raina has clarified the ongoing controversy over his podcast show ‘India’s Got Latent’. He said that all the videos of the show have been removed from YouTube. He clarified that his intention was only to make the audience laugh.
He has also promised to cooperate with the ongoing investigation by agencies including the police in this regard. He writes, ‘What is happening now is difficult for me to handle. I have removed all the videos of ‘India’s Got Latent’ from my YouTube channel. My intention was only to make people laugh. I am ready to cooperate with all agencies for a fair investigation.’
Ranveer Allahabadia has also apologized for this incident. The episode went viral on the internet after Raina’s podcast featured obscene and vulgar comments targeting parents. Not only the host but also the 30 guests who came there, a case has been filed in Indian states including Maharashtra, West Bengal.
The police, the Women’s Commission, and the Human Rights Commission have also filed cases and cut off the attendance letter. There has also been discussion in Parliament and a letter has been written to Home Minister Amit Shah. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has also opposed this. Now YouTube has removed all the videos of the show. After the controversy flared up, the shows that Raina was supposed to do in states including Gujarat have been canceled.
