United beat Brighton in fifth place in the league.
Manchester United have risen to fifth place in the Premier League with a stellar performance against Brighton. With Tuesday’s 3-0 win, United have strengthened their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League.
Ole Gunner Salkshire’s team has put full pressure on the game and extended their unbeaten run to 15 games. United are two points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.
Youngster Mason Greenwood gave United the lead. Playmaker Bruno Fernandez scored the second goal for United, who looked very aggressive in front of the goal. He added another goal in the second half to ensure United’s victory.
Brighton also attacked United’s post in the second half, but goalkeeper David de Gea thwarted Aaron Connolly’s attempt. Graham Potter’s team is ranked 15th in the league.
Liverpool have won the league title after 30 years, while 20-time champions United have been without a title for seven years. Under Salkshire’s leadership, United are slowly recovering.
