The musical guest for the upcoming episode of “Saturday Night Live” is Lizzo.

Lizzo will perform as the musical guest on “Saturday Night Live” the following week, on December 17, which will be hosted by “Elvis” actor Austin Butler.

Due to guitarist Nick Zimmer’s struggle with pneumonia, the musical act the Yeah Yeah Yeahs had to postpone their performance on the program.

“As many of our fans know, Nick has been sick with pneumonia for the past month, and it’s been an up-and-down recovery process,” the group wrote on Instagram. “The band’s top priority is supporting Nick through a full recovery.” As a result, we had to pull out of our engagements at KROQ’s Acoustic Christmas and Saturday Night Live.”

After Brandi Carlile’s second performance on “SNL” on Saturday night in 2022, Lizzo will become the second musical guest to take on the job twice this year. Lizzo hosted the show in April and also participated in the musical performances.

Lizzo recently put on a successful performance at Madison Square Garden’s iHeartRadio Jingle Ball, where she donned a Grinch costume and performed favorites like “Good as Hell” and “About Damn Time.” On Instagram, she posted a photo of herself wearing the hashtag “100% That Grinch.”

Recently, “About That Time” was recognized as the Hitmakers Record of the Year by Variety.

In an interview with Variety about her upcoming “Love, Lizzo” documentary, Lizzo said of the song, “It’s a dance song with these super-emotional lyrics, where you can tell this person’s been through some shit.” The musically trained flutist masterfully dissected the song’s elements, pausing occasionally to ponder the big picture (“There’s a lot of tension” in a chord that is “somewhere between major and minor,” she said).

She claimed that having a thorough understanding of songwriting and music theory was the key to its power. “Neither all happiness nor all sadness is possible.” When the listener hears the music, you need to give them a genuine human experience that includes pleasure, anguish, joy, despair, fear, and release.

In addition to the Adult Top 40, Dance/Mix Show Airplay, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, Mainstream Top 40, and Rhythmic Airplay charts, the peppy, disco-tinged hymn peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Due to a sassy dance produced by the song’s creator, Jaeden Gomez, the song’s popularity on TikTok increased steadily after its release in April. In July, “About Damn Time” held the top spot.

Theron Thomas, who co-wrote the song, said, “I honestly believe that the TikTok moment and the choreography behind it going viral definitely helped drive it over the top.” It was a terrific song to begin with.

Slatkin concurred, claiming that coming out of quarantine served as the song’s inspiration, signaling that it was finally time to dance. He remarked, “We wanted to develop something that takes you right to the dance floor the moment you hear it.” We wanted to see everyone having a good time and dancing, so I love that the TikTok dance fad helped it take off.

Slatkin attributed a significant portion of “About Damn Time Success’s” to Lizzo’s high standards. He said that it took virtually every day for four months to perfect the song in the studio.

However, I believe it also conveys the message that “Look, we’ve been going through it, and we’re still going through it,” said Reed. “The song is upbeat, positive, and confident.” There are numerous difficulties present at the moment.

She claims that this is the power of having a thorough understanding of songwriting and music theory. “Neither all happiness nor all sadness is possible.” When the listener hears the music, you need to give them a genuine human experience that includes pleasure, anguish, joy, despair, fear, and release.
