Singer Balasuvramanyam passes away.

Famous singer of South Indian and Hindi films SP Balasuvramanyam has passed away. He died today at the age of 74. He died at a hospital in Chennai. While Salman Khan was making his Bollywood debut, Balasubramaniam’s voice could be heard in Salman’s films.

He has given voice for Salman in films like ‘Maine Pyaar Kiya, Saajan, Hum Aap Ke He Kaun’. He also sang in the title song of the movie ‘Chennai Express’ starring Saharukh Khan.

The singer, who made his mark in South India, had lent his voice in the 1981 Hindi film Ek Duje Ke Liye.

The South Indian-born singer said he was a fan of Mohammad Rafi. He has sung for Indian superstars Kamal Haasan, Rajinikanth, MGR, Saharukh Khan and Salman Khan. Balasubramaniam was also a successful dubbing artist. He has given voice in many Telugu films of Kamal Hassan. He has also received the Nandi Award twice for dubbing.

These singers have also made records by giving voice to 21 Kannada songs in one day. Indian media has mentioned that he has written his name in the Guinness World Records by singing 40,000 songs.
