Producer Harvey Weinstein sentenced to 23 years in prison
American film producer Harvey Weinstein has been sentenced to 23 years in prison for sexual harassment. A decade ago, Harvey was accused of sexual harassment by a woman. The woman’s lawyer had alleged that Harvey, a Hollywood power player, sexually abused young actresses several times. After five years of all these charges, the court in Los Angeles convicted him last Monday.
After two weeks of deliberations, a jury of eight men and four women found the 70-year-old producer, popular in his time, guilty of his crimes. Harvey has already served two years in prison for one case. Harvey’s attorney did not immediately comment on the matter.
“Harvey will never be able to rape another woman again. He will now spend the rest of his life behind bars, where he is now. “During this case, Harvey’s lawyer adopted many tactics, from threatening us,” said the victim’s lawyer.
