Pat Cummins became the most expensive player of the IPL
Pat Cummins, the captain of Australia that won the World Cup, was sold in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for a record amount.
Sunrise Hyderabad made a bid of 20.50 crores for him at the Tuesday auction. As a result, he is now the most expensive player in IPL history.
His initial cost was two crores. Mumbai Indians made the second offer after the Chennai Super Kings. Chennai placed a bid of 4.8 crores in the competition between the two. Subsequently, Royal Challengers Bangalore placed a 5 crore bid.
Up to 7.40 crores were at stake in the competition between Bangalore and Chennai. Bangalore has the necessary 7.80 crores to pay. Following that, Sunrise Hyderabad entered the Cummins bidding process and inked a 20.50 crore contract with the company.
