Ophthalmologist Sanduk Ruit received “Isa Award” worth 130 million

Ophthalmologist Sanduk Ruit has received the most prestigious ISA Award in the world. In a press conference on Wednesday, Dr. Ruit informed that he had received the “Isa Award,” established in the name of Sheikh Isa bin Salman Khalifa, the former king of Bahrain.

This organization gives awards every two years to people active in the field of human welfare. “In the various awards given in the world, something is connected to something political or something,” he said, “but this award is a fair award.”

As an award, Dr. Ruit will receive a gold medal and a certificate worth one million dollars, i.e., 138 million Nepalese rupees. 145 people and organizations were nominated for this award. Dr. Ruit informed the press conference that six of them were shortlisted and that he was selected.

He said that the general public expressed their happiness over the award and said that it remains to be seen how the state will take it. He said, “I don’t think the award I received is small.”
