Mrs. World was awarded to Sargam Kaushal

India’s Sargam Kaushal has won the title of Mrs. World 2021–2022, in a competition held in Las Vegas, USA. Sharing this news on Instagram, Sargam Kaushal wrote, “The long wait is over.” We got the crown after 21 years.

Hailing from Jammu, Sargam Kaushal currently resides in Mumbai. Her father, GS Kaushal, who lives in Jammu, told the BBC, “When my daughter was two and a half years old, I saw her as extraordinary, and her face was unique.” I wanted her to go to Miss Femina as well, but she was reluctant to participate in any beauty pageant.”

Sargam Kaushal studied till the 12th grade at Presentation Convent High School, Jammu. After this, she did her B.Sc. and then her Masters in English Literature from the University of Jammu. After earning her B.Ed., she started teaching in school.

According to her father, “I always wanted her to participate in beauty pageants.” In 2017, we married Sargam. She moved out of Jammu after the marriage.

He says, “After marriage, I used to tell you to do something now.” After Visakhapatnam, she moved to Mumbai. Even after this, I said, “Now that you have reached Mayanagari, do something.” Then she started working to participate in the competition. “I would also like to thank Sargam’s husband for his full support.”

Sargam Kaushal’s husband is an officer in the Indian Navy. GS Kaushal says: “After this, Sargam started preparations and won the title of Mrs. India in 2022.” There were 51 contestants in this competition, and she then represented Mrs. World.

Contestants from 63 countries participated in the Mrs. World competition.
