Messi, Argentine football star Lionel Messi has confirmed that the 2022 FIFA World Cup final will be his last match for Argentina. Messi’s statement came after Argentina beat Croatia 3-0 in the first semi-final on Wednesday. Messi told Argentine media outlet Diario Deportivo Ole, “I am very happy to complete my World Cup journey by playing my last game in the final.”

He said that the World Cup was still many years away and he didn’t think he would be able to play the way he is now. “The next one is many years away and I don’t think I’ll be able to do it. This is the best way to end it,” he said. “We survived difficult situations. Today we are experiencing something wonderful,” he said.
