Breast is an important part of a woman’s body, the health of which is never discussed. This organ is seen only in connection with beauty and affection. The small part of the breast, the nipples, which is the most important link between mother and child, is neglected by women. While paying attention to nipple health is very important for every woman. Today let’s talk about the health and safety of the smallest but most important part of a woman’s body.
Keep in mind, the first thing a woman can see is her nipples. They can also find signs of their deteriorating health from this which most women cannot understand.
There are many types of nipples
Every woman’s nipples are different from each other. These are unique like fingerprints, which can be dark pink, light brown, dark brown or black in color. Every woman’s nipple size is also different. There are many types here
Nipples are:
Protruding nipples: Those whose breasts are protruding have protruding nipples. They are larger than normal and are a few millimeters above the areola (the mani-shaped circle of the nipples).
Erect nipples
This type of nipple protrudes outwards. According to a research, women who have this type of nipple are happy and sociable.
Hairy nipples
Some women have hair around their nipples. Doctors consider it normal. But some studies have found that nipple hair can cause irregular periods, PCOS or ovarian cysts.
Supernumerary nipple
Some women have 2 or more nipples on their breasts which are called supernumerary nipples.
Small nipples
The size of the nipple is smaller than normal but it does not matter.

If you are not pregnant, if you have discharge from the nipples, understand – you have a disease
Gynecologist at Cloud Nine Hospital in Gurugram, India. According to Ritu Sethi, nipples give many signals related to a woman’s health. If it oozes milk or blood, be careful. Bleeding from the nipple is a symptom of breast cancer. In such a case, lumps are felt in the breast and swelling also occurs. There may be red or yellow-pink discharge from the nipple.
If milk is secreted without pregnancy, it is due to hormonal imbalance. This is called prolactinoma. In prolactinoma, when the level of the hormone called prolactin increases, a tumor is formed in the pituitary gland, but it is not cancer. Due to this, menstruation is not regular and women may experience infertility. Apart from this, even when there is a brain tumor, even when the thyroid is present, milk starts to be secreted from the nipples.
Changes in the body change the color of the nipple
Hormones fluctuate in women’s bodies, which affects their breasts and nipples. The area around the nipple, called the areola, changes color as the body changes. If a woman is going through menopause or pregnancy, the nipple becomes tight and the surrounding area becomes dark brown. The reason for this is the increase in the amount of hormones. In breast cancer, the color of the areola looks like an orange peel.
The smell of the nipple attracts the baby
There are small sweat glands in the nipple which are called Montgomery’s glands. Fluid from these glands keeps the nipples lubricated during breastfeeding. The mother’s body emits a scent that attracts the newborn and the baby clings to the mother for milk.
The relationship between labor pain and the nipple
According to Dr. Ritu, pregnant women who have reached the point of delivery but do not experience labor pains are asked to press the nipples. In fact, due to stimulation of the nipples, the uterus begins to contract and labor pains begin.
Similarly, touching the nipples releases a hormone called oxytoxin, which helps the uterus to contract, making it easier for the baby to come out and the uterus to shrink back to its normal size. After delivery, the level of oxytoxin in the mother’s body increases even when the newborn is breastfed.
When the baby cries, milk comes out of the mother’s nipple
Nature has bound the relationship between mother and child in such a way that when the child cries, the mother’s milk starts leaking. In medical language, this effect is called ‘loot down reflex’. In fact, hearing the baby’s cry, the nerves in the brain signal the breast to express milk.
Some studies have shown that this can also happen when a woman is thinking about a baby or hearing another baby cry.
How to take care of the nipple?
– Always moisturize the breasts and nipples so that they do not dry out
– Do not apply soap to the nipples while bathing
– Massage towards the heart for a few minutes every day
– Eat foods rich in vitamin D and stay in the sun all the time
– Wear a cotton bra of the right size. Change the bra every 3 to 6 months.
– If the nipples are painful or some fluid is coming out, see the doctor immediately
Nipples become enlarged during ovulation
Every month after menstruation, an egg is released from a woman’s ovary. This is called ovulation. It is a part of the menstrual cycle. Some research has revealed that during ovulation, the hormonal balance is disturbed, due to which the amount of estrogen increases and the nipples become hard and start to protrude.
Moreover, it can also happen during menopause. Post-menstrual syndrome, i.e. stomach pain, indigestion, muscle pain, swelling after menstruation, women have hard nipples.
These causes can cause nipple pain
Some girls and women experience nipple pain before menstruation or during the first trimester of pregnancy. Similarly, some women experience breast pain during menopause, but the pain is muscle related. That is, the bone under the breast hurts.
Extreme pleasure can be achieved with nipples
Nipples are considered important when establishing a relationship. It is a sensitive part of a woman’s body, touching which increases the excitement in the body.
According to a study published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine, many women are highly aroused by nipples, which give them satisfaction.
Why do men have nipples?
Often the question arises in people’s minds that why are the nipples of men like women? In fact, nipples develop in the mother’s womb before the fetus is formed. Sex is determined after the embryo is formed. That is, when the ‘Y’ chromosome arrives in the embryo, the nipple is already formed.
Breasts are one part of the female body that every woman hesitates to talk about and that is why this part of the body is often neglected. Women should always be aware of the changes in this part of their body and never ignore it. A woman raises her breast to be alert
