Kolkata beat Hyderabad by 7 wickets.

27 September, Kathmandu. Kolkata Knight Riders beat Sunrisers Hyderabad by seven wickets in the Indian Premier League (IPL).

Hyderabad had set a target of 143 runs against Kolkata at Abu Dhabi. Kolkata achieved that target by losing three wickets in 18 overs.

Shubhaman Gill became the hero of Kolkata’s victory. He scored 70 not out off 62 balls and became the man of the match. Ian Morgan contributed 42 not out off 29 balls.

Kolkata did not have a good start. Sunil Narine was out in the second over. He could not open a run account.
Similarly, Nitish Rana scored 26 runs off 13 balls.

Captain Dinesh Karthik could not do any miracle. He could not open an account. He became LBW with the help of Rashid Khan.

After losing the third wicket in the seventh over, Kolkata scored 63 runs. Shubham Gill took care of the embarrassed team. He completed his half-century off 42 balls while Kolkata completed their 100-run mark in 14 overs.

Ian Morgan, batting at number five, was also in good form. Morgan and Gill shared 92 runs to win Kolkata.

Earlier, after winning the toss and choosing to bat at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, Hyderabad scored 142 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.

Manish Pandey top-scored for Kolkata with 51 runs. He struck three fours and two sixes. Captain David Warner scored 36, Riddhiman Saha 30 and Mohammad Navi 11 runs. Others could not add a double digit run.
