For the first time, a sexual minority woman won the title of Miss Netherlands
The title of Miss Universe Netherlands 2023 has been won by a sexual minority woman for the first time. Ricci Valerie was crowned Miss Universe Netherlands 2023 in a grand ceremony held at the AFAS Theater in Leusden on Saturday.
By winning the title, she became the first woman from a sexual minority. She is the second most sexual minority woman after Spain’s Angela Ponce.
Previously, Angela participated in this competition for the first time in 2018 as a sexual minority woman. But she was not able to win the title.
