Demand that performers be permitted to enter the Singha Darbar and the airport only after displaying their IDs.

The government has been urged by the Movie Artists Union to permit artists to enter the Singha Darbar’s special rooms and the airport using their identification cards. On Sunday, the working committee team of the Union arrived at the Ministry of Home Affairs and presented Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Narayakaji Shrestha with a four-point demand. Actor and general secretary Savin Shrestha told me that using the identity card provided by the association, they were only allowed access to certain areas of the airport and the country’s main administrative building, Sinha Darbar. About 900 people have received identity cards from the artist association.

In Dhapasi, Kathmandu, the association has also asked to use some land under the name of the Movie Actors Association. It has been requested to take steps to return the money to the victims after millions of dollars saved in civil cooperatives were embezzled by enlightened citizens and regular people, including well-known filmmakers. The actresses Bashundhara Bhusal, Chaityadevi, and Bhuvan Chand are said to have saved money that was locked up in the cooperative. They have been grabbing the party leaders’ attention for this. According to Union General Secretary Shrestha, Home Minister Shrestha has responded favorably to the fair demands made by the artists’ union.
