Deepika’s ‘Bikini Color’ causes waves in India, minister’s warning to stop release if not removed
A boycott of Shah Rukh Khan’s much awaited film ‘Pathan’ has started. The recently released movie song ‘Besaram Rang’ has created a controversy in India.
Controversy has been raging especially over actress Deepika Padukone. With the release of the song, Deepika has been surrounded by controversies regarding her dance steps and attire.
From politicians to common people have commented on Deepika’s monoconi dress. Even the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party leader has come under criticism for the color of the bikini.
The color of Deepika’s dress is used in Hindu worship, while the ruling party BJP has also been using this color. Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra warned that the release of the film would be stopped if the scene was not removed. He is accused of insulting Deepika’s bikini and the color of her dress.
“Some scenes in Pathan are based on poisonous mentality,” he said. “It is wrong to use clothes of the same color as the one used in the Besaram Rang song. If the scene is not changed, there is no need to release it in Madhya Pradesh.”
Mishra said, “In the film, Deepika Padukone, a supporter of Tukde Gang, wore objectionable clothes and the film was made with this contaminated mentality.” Mishra, who is also a BJP leader, says that the costumes used in the song are very objectionable at first glance.
In some parts of India, effigies of Shahrukh and Deepika have been burnt in protest against the song. The song ‘Besaram Rang’ from the film ‘Pathan’ directed by Siddharth Anand was released on 12th December. But the film is actually going to be released on 25 January 2023.
