Creators Fair 2024 ! held at Aloft Hotel in Thamel

The two-day ‘Creators Mela 2024’ has started in the capital from Friday under the auspices of the American Embassy. Almost a dozen sessions were presented on the first day of the fair held at Aloft Hotel in Thamel.

According to the embassy, ​​the fair was organized with the aim of developing the capacity and skills of Nepali digital creators and influencers, making their online presence effective and increasing their business.

The theme of this year’s fair is ‘Build, Brand, Boost’. Nearly 500 content creators participated on the first day of the fair.

On the first day, Friday, various discussion sessions were held on podcasting, the impact of growing social networks on various platforms, the use of AI in social networks, how to achieve success through social networks, the style of telling stories through visual media, regulating social networks.

American podcaster and author Elise Hu and Nepali freelance podcaster Sushant Pradhan discussed the session on ‘Podcast Workshop: Style and Skills’. Facilitated by famous Nepali podcaster Savina Karki, the speakers of this session shared their views on how to make podcasts interesting and enjoyable.

They also shared their experiences on how to connect viewers and listeners with content.

Make-up artist Lemy and content creator Parakram Rana discussed in the session on ‘How to increase the presence of social networks on various platforms’. Lemy said that Nepali youth can post videos of their interests and desires on social networks without any pressure.

If you have an idea for a recipe that will make you crazy, it will happen even when you post it. In the same way, you can create content without any pressure.” Lemmy told her experience, ‘I also used social networks in the makeup business. It also helped to boost my business.

Content creator Rana said that whatever content is created, it should be connected with Nepali language, culture and originality. “Making content in this way adds emotion to Nepal,” he said.

Osin Sitaula, Sanjog Koirala and former Miss Nepal and entrepreneur Anushka Shrestha discussed in the discussion session how to be successful in social networks.

Photojournalist Skanda Gautam, Filmmaker Shanta Nepali, Sushil Sapkota discussed in the session on ‘The Art of Storytelling’. Embassy Public Affairs Chief Garrett Wilkerson and Spokesperson Zehra Naqvi participated in the question-and-answer session.

On the main stage, the artists created an entertaining atmosphere with musical performances. Sushant Ghimire captivated the audience with his singing performance. Pragati Pun gave a dance performance. Along with these, other fun sessions were also organized on the main stage.

On Saturday, the last day of the fair, there will be discussions and workshops like food vlogging workshop, mental health, style of how to turn interest into profit, how to create your personal brand on social media, travel vlog, Instagram story and reels workshop.

Besides, there will be live body painting, musical performance by singer Trishala Gurung, Priyanka Karki’s journey of life. There will also be an interaction between former Miss Nepal series Khatiwada, film director Nischal Basnet and young entrepreneur Shri Gurung.

This year, a total of 31 sessions will be conducted, including 12 mainstage sessions and 19 interactive sessions on topics such as podcasting, brand-building, monetization and mental health.
