Arsenal beat Liverpool on penalties in the quarterfinals.
2 october , Kathmandu. Arsenal have reached the quarter-finals of the English League Cup (Carabayo) after beating Liverpool in a penalty shootout. After last night’s 90-minute match ended in a goalless draw, the result was decided from the penalty spot.
Where Arsenal won 5-4. Goalkeeper Bernd Leno, who was the hero in Arsenal’s victory, saved two penalties. Initially, Arsenal’s Mohamed Elne missed a penalty. But then Leno saved Arsenal’s victory by blocking the penalties of Devog Origi and Harry Wilson.
For Arsenal, Joseph Willock scored the winning penalty. Alexander Lacazette, Soares, Mitland, Niels Pepe and Willock scored for Arsenal. For Liverpool, only James Milner, Giorgione Vijnaldo, Takumi Minamino and Curtis Jones scored.
Stoke City and Brentford have also reached the quarterfinals of the championship. Brandford beat Fulham 3-0 in the Premier League and Stoke also beat Aston Villa 1-0 in the Premier League.
Arsenal will now play Manchester City in the quarterfinals. Tottenham will play Stoke and Newcastle will play Brentford while Manchester United will play Everton.
