4 five star hotels were added in Nepal
The number of five-star hotels including boutique luxury operating in Nepal has reached 22. According to the Department of Tourism, this year, one hotel has been added to the boutique luxury five-star category and three hotels have been added to the five-star category.
Bhairahawa-operated Siddhartha International, Kathmandu’s Hotel Lhasa International (Dusit Princess) and Dhumbarahi’s Akama Hotel have been classified as five-star, while Varnawas Museum Boutique Hotel and Boutique Luxury have been classified as five-star, said Chun Bahadur Tamang, the officer of the department’s hotel branch.
According to him, with this, the number of five-star boutique luxury hotels has reached three. Dwarikaj and Basera boutique hotels were earlier in this category. According to the department, five-star hotels including chain hotel Hilton, Jagdamba Hospitality, Hotel Forest Inn, Budhanilkanth Heritage are in the process of being classified.
The department has regularly updated the licenses by classifying them into five star deluxe and five star level in accordance with the provisions of the Tourism Act-2035, Hotels, Lodges, Restaurants and Resorts, Bars and Guides Regulations 2038 and Tourism Industry Service Flow Guide, 2070.
According to the classification of hotels published by the department, Hotel Mechi Crowne Plaza under Vegas City Entertainment Pvt Ltd operating in Dhulabari, Jhapa has been listed as a five star deluxe hotel.
