13 leaders and workers of CPN (Mashal) who boycotted the election are under the control of Baglung police.

Kathmandu- Baglung police have arrested 13 leaders and activists of the Communist Party of Nepal (Mashal) who planned to boycott the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly elections to be held on November 4.

According to District Police Office Baglung, 13 people, including 70-year-old Krishnaraj Poudel, a member of the party’s politburo, were arrested from the corner meeting of the election boycott program organized by CPN (Mashal) in Kushmisera Bazar on Tuesday.

According to SP Dayanidhi Gyawali of Baglung, they were arrested by a team led by Sub-Inspector Min Bahadur Khatri from Kushmisera Police Station. Gyawali said anti-election pamphlets were recovered from the arrested leaders and activists.

Among those arrested are 53-year-old Deb Bahadur Lamichhane, central president of Akhil Bharat Nepali Ekta Samaj, 46-year-old central member Surya Bahadur Thapa, 54-year-old Jaimini Nagar member Ramakant Sharma, 52-year-old Dal Bahadur Vick, central vice president of Raktim Cultural Campaign.

Similarly, CPN (Mashal) Kaski district spokesperson Vikram Thapa, 43, Baglung district member Deepak Gurung, 42, Kathmandu Metropolitan President Khageshwar Sharma, 46, supporter Lal Bahadur Nepali, 39, Sagar Kunwar, 35, Akash Gautam, 48, and Pahad Bista, 30. And the central representative of the party, 47-year-old Narayan Sapkota, has been arrested. The police said that they were kept at the Kushmisera police station.
